My favorite classroom apps

Since I will be trying out a flipped classroom next year, the newest common core craze, I have been spending all my downtime the last few days researching and trying out loads of website and apps in hopes to find a platform that is clean and engaging for my students. Here are a few that I have played with that have met my high standards.

	Parents can now download the ClassDojo App to monitor their child’s behavior throughout the day. I will post more details on how I used this last year. My kids absolutely loved it. 	Students take a placement test and then work at their own pace. After I created my teacher account, I enrolled myself as a "student" just to see how it work from their end... and SO COOL.  Choose your device here: http://www.scootpad.com/mobile
	"Edmodo is designed to get students excited about learning in a familiar environment. On Edmodo, teachers can continue classroom discussions online, give polls to check for student understanding, and award badges to individual students based on performance or behavior." It looks just like Facebook! Search your app store.
	Dropbox is great way to have all of your most important teacher files and folders with you at all times! Smartphones, iPads, computers, or anywhere with internet. It's all there. I have it on my home computer and my school laptop just in case I choose to keep my laptop at school. You can also share folders with another Dropbox users or just share a link to it. I use my Public folder to store information for my parents and just have a link to it on my class website. Let me refer you!

I've been wanting to post pictures of my classroom. This weekend I've had some extra time since I am no longer working 3 jobs. YES, 3 JOBS! I'm a workaholic. I've always worked multiple jobs. Even in college. It was tough, but I had to choose what was best for me... and my students.
